Trainees working in the laboratories of Medicine by Design-funded principal investigators may apply for funding to attend national and international conferences that are directly related to Medicine by Design funded research.

  • To qualify, trainees must have had an abstract accepted for presentation at the conference (poster or oral). Funds of up to $2,000 (travel, accommodation, registration and meals) per trainee per year are available. Reimbursement guidelines are in compliance with University of Toronto and Canada First Research Excellence Fund policies. There is a limit of one candidate submission per principal investigator for the same conference. Please complete and submit the following form. Applications will be reviewed and decisions communicated within one month of submission.

  • If attending a conference please upload your abstract. Include a title and list all authors and their affiliations (Word or PDF format).

  • Please upload a letter of support from your supervisor on official letterhead (Word or PDF format). This is required for all events (i.e. conference, workshop or course). Alternatively, your supervisor may e-mail the letter directly to payam.zahedi@utoronto.ca. Letter can be made out to: Payam Zahedi, PhD - Scientific Manager, Medicine by Design.
